The award winners 2009

The award jury 2009, consisting of Vincent Baudriller (director Festival d´Avignon), Martin Berg (director theatre/dance at the Goethe Institute), Dr. Christian Esch (director NRW KULTURsekretariat), Joachim Lux (artistic director Thalia Theater Hamburg), Annemie Vanackere (artistic director Rotterdamse Schouwburg), as well as the two festival directors Matthias von Hartz and Tom Stromberg, awarded the following prizes at a ceremony and final night party held at the festival centre of the FFT Kammerspiele in Düsseldorf on 6th December 2009:

The award for the best off theatre production went to the directing duo Gintersdorfer/Klaßen for their production “Othello c´est qui“.

The Goethe Institute award went to the performance group Gob Squad for their production “Saving the World”. With the support of the Goethe Institute, this production will tour internationally in 2010 and 2011.

The Dietmar N. Schmidt prize for an oustanding individual performance includes a prize money of 1500 Euros and was awarded to Boris Nikitin and Malte Scholz for their productions “Woyzeck” and “F for Fake”.
