She She Pop und ihre Väter – Testament

- Verspätete Vorbereitungen zum Generationswechsel nach Lear

Shakespeare’s King Lear is required reading at school, so everyone knows the story. Yet what the performance collective She She Pop brings to the stage is completely new and surprising: a touching evening about the intergenerational contract, approached directly and recklessly with their real fathers on stage. The theatre becomes the space in which a utopian process and the balance between the generations are negotiated.

She She Pop and their fathers
She She Pop are a performance collective with seven members in Berlin and Hamburg. It originated from the applied theatre sciences degree course in Gießen, Germany. She She Pop's performances are characterised by coincidental and frank dramaturgy The performers do not merge with a role; instead, they establish a courageous example of identity as the product of something random and self-generating, an identity, which can be referred to as a strategy. She She Pop engage themselves and their audience in an alternating process between free space and limitation, improvisation and adjustment, self-description and external attributes. She She Pop call their own fathers to the stage as part of Testament. The group was first invited to the Theatre Festival IMPULSE in 2007 to perform Relevanzshow.
